How to OLED?
Hi everyone. I bought a new Samsung odyssey g85 not too long ago, and holy shit am I glad that I did! I love how everything on the monitor looks, it feels like I am looking through a window at times.
I have played around with a bunch of different settings, on the monitor itself and on windows, but I honestly don't really know what I am doing. I need some help to learn how, what and how when it comes to OLED calibration, or just monitor calibration in general.
I see people talk about nits, SDR mode, true OLED etc. I tried to read up on everything, but I am still a little confused. I read somewhere that you needed to have 1000 nits to truly get the true OLED experience and to turn on peak brightness, but not if game mode is on because of reasons I can't remember right now. I tried to follow a tutorial and tweaked it to my specific environment, but I found that even though the image looked pretty good, it was just too bright and sharp to the point my eyes started to hurt.
I just need some help with understanding what theses terms and settings are, and what I should have enabled or disabled and why. If anyone could help me out with this or know of any good websites, articles etc. I would really appreciate it!
