Did BBLs get safer in the last few years?

I feel like in the past BBLs were considered extremely dangerous. Kanye’s mom died from one, I think. People were getting fat embolisms and dying and the mortality rate was supposedly unacceptably high so you had to travel to get them since a lot of countries wouldn’t.

Now it seems like every instagram/tiktok model has a BBL of some kind. Often a comically large one. I haven’t heard of a BBL related death in ages. Did they get safer?
