Should I post shorts between my longform uploads?

I have three videos finished and ready to upload. They range between 8 and 15 minutes and I intend to upload these on a weekly basis.

Should I upload sections of the longform videos and behind the scenes clips as shorts or will that negatively affect my channel in terms of how the algorithm promotes it?
