How common is workplace bullying?
Hello!
I’m starting my first IFT job in less than a week and I’m a bit worried about cliques/workplace drama/etc. When I had my phone “interview” the two men on the other side of the call were rly surprised to hear that I’m a girl. I also have a baby face so I know this might land me in even hotter waters. (I’m around 5’7 tho). Idk if this even matters.
I know EMT jobs are male-dominated mostly, so I was wondering if this is a real thing. I don’t think of myself as an overly sensitive person but I don’t want my feelings hurt and stuff. Im definitely going to start exercising more once I start working (I can lift 70 lbs more or less I think, I didn’t rly check). So there might be criticism there, which is fair.
But I really hate the idea of being outcasted. My clinical ride alongs were genuinely so awful I put off getting an ambulance job for a year.
I might be having a panic rambling sesh right now, but I really want to have a good and friendly experience with my coworkers.
