Asuma’s bracelets

Am I crazy or does Asuma’s bracelets change a lot through the beginning of Shippuden? I haven’t gotten too deep into Shippuden but this stuck out to me for some reason. In the original I think they were the wristbands too then out of no where they were the dope bengal things.
