Do we have a problem against ‘mid table’ teams?

Was thinking on my way back from the match yesterday that we are dropping a lot of points against teams most would have thought to be mid table this season:

I’d split the other 19 into 3 groups based on theoretically where they were expected to be (obviously likes of Man U/ Spurs are poor and Bournemouth/Forest have been excellent but going on more of a vibe rather than how good they actually are)

Sky 6 plus Villa

Too good to go down - Forest, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham, Brentford, Palace and West Ham

Relegation battlers- Everton, Wolves, Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton

Against the top group we’ve done really well having played 8 games we’ve won 5, drew 2 and lost one averaging ~2.1 ppg

Equally against the bottom 5 we’ve done great in 6 games with 5 wins and 1 draw averaging ~2.7 ppg

But against the theoretical middle of the pack we’ve really struggled with 8 games having yielded 1 win, 2 draws and 5 losses at a paltry ~0.6 PPG

Any thoughts on why this is the case? Do we only get up for games vs the top teams and the reason we beat the teams at the bottom is we have a big talent advantage? Can’t be that simple surely
