Is Calvin Johnson’s 2012 season the most overrated in NFL history?
This was the season that he broke the single-season yards record. However, he did it playing on an awful team that passed constantly. He ran 770 routes that season, when the next closest total to that in a season was 690 done by 2011 Calvin Johnson and 2022 Justin Jefferson (17-game season).
So basically he ran 12% more routes than anyone ever has in a season, and those players were himself the season prior, and a player playing a 17-game season.
Additionally, he only had 5 TDs.
