Taxi Driver Harassment Story:

Hello,

I came across a deeply disturbing post on Facebook from a Moroccan girl who experienced harassment from a taxi driver while heading to her exam early in the morning. Her story is heartbreaking and highlights the struggles women face in our society. She’s looking for advice on what to do next and how to hold this man accountable for his actions.

"I was harassed by a taxi driver. Please, how can I report him? Should I go to the police or try to find his supervisor? I don’t have any evidence except the traces of his fluid on me. Will they agree to conduct medical tests on him?

Let me tell you what happened. I took a taxi early in the morning at 6:30, and it was still dark. My father was with me and opened the front door for me to get in. I told the driver where I needed to go, and he asked why I was out so early. I explained I had an exam. He kept trying to make small talk, even though I was giving short answers. Then he started touching my thigh but quickly moved his hand away, so I thought it might have been accidental.

This man is old enough to be my father. It was dark, and the street was deserted. I wasn’t sure what to do. I took the taxi not because I was in a hurry but to avoid waiting for the bus in the dark and cold on an empty street. I thought it would be safer, but I ended up with a harasser instead.

The driver took a narrow, empty street and told me he needed to urinate. I was shocked and said, 'What? Just drop me off; we’re almost there.' He replied, 'I can’t hold it,' opened the trunk, and placed a Kleenex in front of me, saying he couldn’t stop the urge and collects it in bottles in the trunk. He spoke to me like I was one of his buddies. I stayed silent, not responding to his disgusting talk.

Then he started driving again and touched my thigh again. When I realized we were close to my destination, I turned to him and firmly said, 'Take your hand off me.' When we arrived, he asked for my number, saying he could pick me up after my exam and wouldn’t charge me. He said it would be a gift from him. I threw the money at him, slammed the door, and left, regretting not taking his number. I was so shaken, angry, and confused.

When I entered the exam hall and sat down, I noticed something sticky on my pants and shirt, a mix of yellow and white. I immediately remembered the pervert and the Kleenex he had placed in front of me. It had his fluid on it. I was horrified and couldn’t understand why he would do such a thing. What did he gain from this disgusting behavior?

I went to the bathroom and cried until my eyes were swollen, but there was no water. I felt so humiliated. I wasn’t dressed provocatively—I was wearing a scarf, glasses for the visually impaired, no makeup, no perfume. I didn’t even pay attention to what I was wearing because I was so focused on my exam. There was nothing about me to attract or provoke him. I didn’t even like how I looked that day.

My clothes are still unwashed. Is this enough evidence? I’m willing to pay for any tests necessary. Just show me where to go. Should I go to the police or hire a lawyer? What should I do? May God curse him with prostate cancer."

I really hate situations like this because they give men in general a bad reputation. No girl will ever look at us the same way after experiencing harassment. Personally, I refuse to even call this inhuman creature a man
