New Episode Sparknotes

This was easily her worst and least interesting episode yet, so I won’t bother going too into detail, but there are a couple things in this episode that made my ears perk up.

First, her “most romantic story from Turkey” is literally just her meeting a guy at a bar who took her back to his place, and drew a bath for them with a couple candles. She said she went back and saw him at the bar he owns when she went back to get the dogs and that she still follows him, but no mention of that being anything more than just a one night stand. She tells this one story for maybe 8 minutes and then gets right into reading insane mundane stories.

Second, one of the stories was from a guy who said he ordered an umbrella online and mistakenly got sent a shipment of 100 umbrellas (like the cheap $3 ones), so he gave them out to anyone on campus who needed an umbrella. Molly expressed “disappointment” at his “failed business opportunity” because he could have sold the umbrellas that he got for free and made a profit. Very telling!

Third, the victim blaming. A story was submitted by a girl who had an uncomfortable interaction on the train last week. She said the man sitting next to her on a packed train was overly chatty and asking her too many questions, including an inquiry on if she was single, and it made her uncomfortable. She said the guy rested his head on her chest as she locked eyes with a girl across the train in a mutually understanding way. Molly then goes on to berate this girl and yell “WHY WERE YOU LETTING THIS MAN PUT HIS HEAD ON YOUR CHEST. I WOULD GET UP IMMEDIATELY” Molly then says “people are so different from me in situations like this because I would never let this happen. Like, no way” Then, she goes on to ask if the submitter is a man because “this is a very boy story, there’s no way a woman would have let this man do that. Very man story”

Fourth and finally, She got a submission about someone going on a date with a man who lied about his height on a dating app (I bet you can guess where this is going). The guy said he had back surgery which made him shorter and she calls that a lie. Molly then goes on a rant about men lying about their height on dating apps 🙃. She says she always assumes that they’re “at least two inches shorter than what it says” and she says “you don’t need to lie about your height. Any woman who isn’t shallow won’t care about that” Funny how that works, Molly!

And that’s it. So half assed, so boring. So hypocritical. Also there was SO much of her dogs barking that was left in this episode. I don’t know why she doesn’t edit out the parts where they’re barking and she’s yelling at them to stop.
