Texas Transplant

My wife and I are moving in June to the area around the twin cities, probably to St Paul but not definitely. We're moving from Texas and the backwards way of thinking. I personally am pumped for the cold especially after all the Texas summers I've survived, but my wife is not so much. What are different things I can get to help her be more comfortable in the winter? Clothing wise, gadget wise, etc Any transplants have advice for being a new person in MN?
