How do we find young families?

This is kind of a strange question, but we've moved 6 times in the past 8 years (3 of which were a house, the rest apartments), and everywhere we are the only ones with young children. They are 6, 2, and now a newborn. I want some random neighbor kid to run up to my door and ask my daughter to play because that's how I grew up.

Now everything is scheduled out to the freaking moon and there isn't a shred of evidence that children exist outside. So millennials who have a village. Who regularly interact with whole other young families. Who just plain even have access to something remotely natural, how did you know where to go??

Realtors will never be honest when asked about community/ etc.
