Car feels like it wants to stall when moving off sometimes.

I sometimes get this strange thing where the car reaches a point in the bite of the clutch and starts a sort of “rumbling”, as if it’s about to stall. The lights also dip when this happens and then all of a sudden it runs smoothly again.

It doesn’t really kick in until the clutch is almost all the way out, then I get a second of the rumble and back to normal. This is unlike any other manual car I have driven, and it feels like, unless I give it some decent revs, I’m always in danger of a stall (which has happened a fair few times).

I’m just wondering if this is a quirk of the car, or something that is a bit unusual.

For reference, I’m talking about pulling off on level, surfaced ground.
