Connection issue in Den???

Anyone ever have this before? It took me completely restarting my iPad to get the chest - I did get it. But now it won’t acknowledge I’m connected to the internet just fine and won’t count any dragon merges toward the new chest??? I’ve looked everywhere in Reddit community and wiki… nothing. Anyone have this happen to them?
