Favorite restaurants for fish in central Lake County

With Lent approaching, more restaurants are offering fish sandwiches and other fish meals. Just curious what the favorite restaurants are for fish meals locally.

Have always enjoyed Brennan's Fish House in Grand River.

One of the last Perkins in Greater Cleveland is in Painesville. On Friday's during at least Lent, it typically has fried perch dinners for $12.95 that include fried perch (seemingly Lake Erie yellow perch) and two sides. This special was on the menu this past Friday.

The Arby's on Mentor Ave. near Lowe's recently began offering a $6.99 special for two crispy fish sandwiches. Not certain what type of fish or how long the special will last.

There's a Culver's on Vine St. that offers North Atlantic Cod sandwiches.

McDonald's has a fish sandwich, and Wendy's and Popeye's often offer fish sandwiches during Lent season.

Church and other fish fries will begin soon. Unfortunately, many of the them no longer specialize in fried yellow perch as in the past.

Yours Truly has a "Fish Friday" featuring battered cod and cod and salmon entrees on its regular menu.
