Which species, organisations or factions could become big threats in the galaxy ?

What various species, organisations, individuals, or any faction with potential do you think could truly grow to become real threats to at least a good portion of the galaxy if they were left unchecked and not stopped or contained before they could act against their enemies and targets ?

Could alien species such as the Ssi-Ruk or Yevetha have become big threats to the galaxy if left unchecked ? Which other Force-user religions or cults could have become a threat to the galaxy, or at least the original or new Jedi order ? What other examples do you have in mind ?
