Should I Split My Stay Between Kaanapali and Wailea? Itinerary below
Hey everyone,
I’m coming to Maui for 6 nights in April and currently planning to stay all 6 nights at the Sheraton Maui in Kaanapali. However, I’m wondering if it’s worth splitting the trip—maybe 4 nights at the Sheraton and 2 nights in Wailea.
I have a rental car, so driving isn’t an issue for me. I know the two areas offer different vibes: Kaanapali seems more lively and close to Lahaina, while Wailea feels quieter and more luxurious.
For those of you who have been to Maui, would splitting the trip be worth the hassle, or should I just stick to one spot and do one trip to Wailea / South Coast if I want to explore that side of the island?
Any tips, insights, or experiences would be greatly appreciated! My HIGH LEVEL itinerary is below (I have a detailed one but this will make post easier to read; my detailed one is in my previous post)
- Day 0.5: Arrive / Relax
- Day 1: Upcountry/Haleakala
- Day 2: Road to Hana
- Day 3: Chill Day / West Coast (near our hotel)
- Day 4: South Coast
- Day 5: Chill Day / West Coast
- Day 6: Last Day / Paia
