Did anyone else play this masterpiece as a kid? Who were your characters?

This was my first Mario Kart and I played it on a Gamecube emulator I had on my Wii (I don't even know how I managed that)! I always played with my cousin and chose Donkey Kong, while he always chose Bowser... NOSTALGIA!
