MailBird needs to stop selling their "lifetime" licenses, this is misleading/dishonest
I am one of the customers who bought a "lifetime" license for MailBird 2.
I can either keep using Mailbird 2, with security breaches showing up at one point in the future, when Mailbird decides to stop sending security updates. Or I can upgrade to Mailbird 3, either the free version (with the loss of my former features from the Personal license), or I can put my money where my mouth is. I have no problem paying every year for a low amount of money to pay for developers (as long as they add significant added value to the product, with new features, which is not the case here!), but I want to know, when I'm at checkout, that I'll be charged a year later. I upgraded to the free version because I wanted to get rid of the "Upgrade now" ads, yet not having to pay extra money, as I wasn't supposed to be charged, I have a lifetime license, right? Now I have "Purchase Mailbird - up to 50% off" ads in the application menu, and a banner ad pops up when I click the advanced search icon. This is not what was planned when I bought a Mailbird 2 license. This is dishonest 👎
