Can someone explain helpers to me?

I think they’re cool for getting to other stages faster, but at the same end it’s not faster nor productive. what’s the point of even having them at the beginning, if it’s just going to take all your power back to its initial amount without helpers? I might as well be back at Stage 1. Cause the time it’s going to take for me to finish this stage now , would be equal to a person playing without helpers to begin with.

Am I missing something here? am I bad at math? someone explain to me the pro in helpers if it’s just gonna set you back for the next stage?
