State of the sub: 1/16/25

First off, we'd like to thank everyone for their contributions to our growing community. The handheld gaming community is growing and with second generation devices being announced, it's great to have subs like this. Now that the new year is here, there are a few things we'd like to address, and that will be sorted into the good, the bad, and the ugly in regards to the sub and where we are going.

The good:

  • r/LegionGo has hit 53,000 subscribers and we are poised to break 60,000 and maybe 70,000 this year.
  • Now that CES is over, we know what the Legion Go 2 and Legion Go S are capable of, and when those devices will begin hitting the market.
  • When the Legion Go S is released to market (currently unknown but most speculate end of Q1 2025), we can expect a lot of new members, and a lot of repeat buyers.
  • The handheld gaming community in general is growing. Several new devices are in production and will begin to start releasing this year.
  • As our sub grows, I will make an effort to contact Lenovo to see if we can get some representation from their representatives and get some news and support and announcements direct from them.
  • I also have some proposed rule changes to this sub that will allow it to move much more smoothly and streamlined (all good, don't worry).

The bad:

  • We completely understand your frustrations with the Auto Mod not approving your posts. Something is broken in the source code that is making it so your posts do not get approved. That doesn't mean that we do not care. It is extremely frustrating and we are working behind the scenes to fix it, but it may take some time to fix..
  • If your post does not get approved, do not worry, send us a PM and we will approve it accordingly.

The ugly:

  • This is where I might get in trouble for this but it does need to be said - I am the only currently active mod on this sub. I have been attempting to contact the other mods through our private Discord server but have been unsuccessful. That channel has been inactive since Thanksgiving. I can only do so much, and I am very actively looking at ways that the sub can have more moderation without being overbearing on our growing user base. If I can gain control, I will put in requests to have new moderators join.

So that is it. Please be patient while we work out these changes.
