Gross misconduct allegation at work

Hey

Looking for some advice on an ongoing situation at work.

I've worked for this family run company for nearly 3 years as a store manager (Scotland). In the last 6 months there's been a new hire for our head office that is essentially my new boss. We've had a few run ins mainly due to either one of myself or my assistant managers reluctance to relocate to a nearby store.

I've now got the following allegations made against me.

Falsification of my timesheets, and payment for shifts not worked.

Dishonest acts to conceal a preferential working pattern

Conflict of interest surrounding a romantic relationship with my assistant manager (We've been in a relationship for over a year and never had any issues).

On Friday I was invited to a meeting held over a whatsapp call with my boss and the head of HR. In the meeting it was noted the allegations against me amounts to gross misconduct and that they have made a decision on whether I would be suspended. They told me they are not going to suspend me due to "the financial burden" on the company and instead want to temporarily relocate me to a nearby store, the same store he has tried to get me to permanently relocate to during the last 6 months.

I have a clause in my contract that states my normal place of working and then also states " Due to the nature of the business, you are expected to attend any site owned by the company as requested by the directors". The company is a small supermarket chain.

I stated that it would be unreasonable for me to attend the travel time. I currently have a 5 minute walk to my current place of work, as opposed to a 4 hour and 50 minute public transport journey to this other store.

I was informed I have no option and I am expected to be there for my next shift which was on the following Monday. I queried as to why if I am being suspected of gross misconduct that I am being allowed to work in another store instead of a suspension, and they said then said a suspension is not required and removing me from the store would be the best action.

On Monday morning I raised a grievance regarding the situation and followed the grievance procedure stated in my contract. I also raised the question of what I'm supposed to do for the time being as I have been instructed as per the letter not to attend my regular place of work.

I received a phone call from a HR assistant on Monday afternoon asking if I had made it to this new store to which was then followed up by a call from the HR manager and I let her know I had raised a grievance with a director. She accused me of breaching the sickness policy as I had not made contact regarding my absence, and I stated I am ready and available for work but I'm in limbo as to what I can do due to the unreasonable demand and the restriction on me attending my regular work place, I asked her what can I do at the moment and she said she'll speak to my boss and get back to me. She hasn't to date

I received a confirmation from the director this morning that the grievance has been received and the process will be handled as per the company policy.

With regards to the allegations against me I have spent the last few days gathering plenty of evidence to dispute all of the allegations and I am confident on this.

My problem is I seem to be in a state where I'm unable to work due to the "unreasonable" request and I'm not allowed to go back to my current place of work.
