The Cancelled 'Lazytown' Movies

Some will already know this, but at the end of the 2000s, the possibility of making a Lazytown movie was raised on two occasions, both without success; But what were these two movies about?

The most known version in quotes is that of the artist Jón Páll Halldórsson, of which there are conceptual arts made by him. The story would deal with themes such as child slavery, murder, the corruption of society, the loss of innocence, among others (in short your average Frank Miller graphic novel lol). This would take place both in the past and in the future, telling the origins of the first guardian, being part of a group of Slavic children who would work on a mining island under the rule of a cruel dictator named Mr. Kicker, as well as the fate of Lazytown, now renamed "Lazytropolis", being ruled by mega corporations of junk food, television shows, video games and anything else that is against leading a healthy life, which would be patrolled by cyborg units who would be on the hunt for the unknown eleventh Sportacus, which would wear armor similar to that of Iron Man. Of this version, it is known that Magnus Scheving himself surprisingly came to approve it, however, this was not the vision he had in mind for the film.

The second version, which is the one that Maggi wanted to make, dates back to 2008, after the second season was broadcast; This has a description, which is the following:

"Sportacus 9 returns after many years to LazyTown upon finding out that someone else was doing his job after having been missing for many years, becoming hostile and overprotective of the children, Sportacus 10 and the Children of the Town could not face him since He was stronger and superior to the protagonist played by Magnus Scheving, the only way to defeat him was with the help of all the citizens of the town, including Robbie Rotten, who reveals to Stephanie and Sportacus that the way this mysterious Sportacus was was because of something that happened in the past since the reason why this character became evil long before Stephanie was born is unknown."

The reason why this never came to fruition was due to various factors such as the advanced age of Stephanie's actress, Julianna Mauriello, the departure of Kobie Powel as the voice of Pixel and the doubt about whether Stefan Karl would return to play Robbie Rotten. As a fun fact, at some point the possibility of reusing this possible plot for the end of the fourth season was kept in mind, which in the end did not happen either.

And well, that's the story of the Lazytown movie we never had, what do you think about it? Would you have liked to see either of them?
