Manual to auto transmission?

Bit of a novice here so any advice welcome please! Looking at purchasing a classic Defender 90 but convert transmission to automatic, as they seem rare on the market. Does anyone know of a rough ball park of the cost to convert? And would this need to be done at a specialist garage? (UK Yorkshire based)
