Allies do exist... (wholesome)

I work part time in a bakery and I basically just sit at the front desk all day and take orders and serve them. Its a pretty basic job and and very chill, the customers are mostly chill too.

So last Saturday, I'm working a full shift right cause and I dont have any classes, the sun is up, AC is on, I'm sipping some stolen coffee and suddenly there comes an (older) guy and goes to look at the cakes and stuff

He picks the one with strawberries and tries making some talk saying that its for his daughter and asks me to write her name on it. I ask if its her birthday, and he tells me not really.

He then tells me that his son has recently come out to him and finally completed the transition so he was getting her a cake to celebrate...

I'm at a loss of words, what am I hearing, did I accidentally come to canada or is this a dream.

But nah, it wasnt a dream, it was real and it was India.

I try to mumble something like how hes such a good father and hes like *"yeah I know"* and very nonchalant about this but then tells me he only told me because I looked very queer myself and thought I'd understand.

Pays in cash, takes the bag and leaves like a king. This really made me think how better the world would be if more people started thinking like this... and accepted people for what they are instead of spreading hate.

To any of you wanting to raise kids, remember I expect nothing less from you.
