Do not message me with moderator questions. Use the Modmail.
If I've forwarded you this thread, then it's likely you've ignored the notice pinned to my profile and sent me a PM or chat regarding moderation matters. I will again encourage you to use the Modmail for that specific subreddit and wait until you hear back from someone there. There are multiple moderators, so you are likely to hear from someone faster than by just PMing me individually. We will be happy to help you there.
I understand that you may have an issue that needs resolved, however my personal Reddit inbox is not the place to resolve it. It's not that I don't care about your issue, the fact is that Modmail is necessary for record keeping purposes when it comes to moderator actions, discipline, etc. I'm sure you can imagine that if a new development comes up months/years after a situation was thought to be resolved, the moderators will not want to search through PMs for any relevant information. There are also other obvious issues if the user isn't active or isn't a moderator anymore; the information would be locked in their PMs rather than easily accessible in Modmail.
In addition to Modmail's importance in record keeping, I also just do not want to receive PMs and chats related to moderation matters. Moderators are unpaid volunteers that donate what time they're able for the betterment of the community, and do actually have lives outside of doing this. I'm sure it's not a stretch to think that I might not be on Reddit, or I might even be browsing Reddit for my own enjoyment and not moderating right this second. GCX has tens of thousands of subscribers and continues to grow - I can promise you that even a small percentage of users mistakenly thinking their issue is so important to warrant a PM/chat results in a lot of moderation matters hitting my personal inbox.
Directly messaging a moderator is, as you can imagine based on the above, against the rules of GCX and many other subs, so please avoid the somewhat awkward situation of picking up a rule infraction as a first impression to the issue you'd like resolved. Email/messaging support for company customer service (where the employees are actually paid exclusively to do this) can often take business days for a response, so please have some understanding and tolerance that it may take us some time to get back to you.
