Bowl-lift bowl lift...again.
Just came from my father-in-law's house. He bought a bowl lift. He was trying to make bread with it and asked me to look at it.
It's garbage. The bowl is close to 3/4" from the dough hook at full elevation. It would fail a stack-of-ten-dimes test, much less just the one. I adjusted it with the screw as much as it'd go, but it's already at max elevation.
He said he bought it on around Thanksgiving and the return window has passed so he's stuck with it.
I haven't looked at one of these since I tossed mine--has anyone developed a fix yet? I thought about stuffing washers around the bowl posts but that'll interfere with the bowl stop.
I don't want to tell him to get a different mixer, but I don't think that thing's fixable.
Any ideas?
