On Chihiro's "talent"

I do not care.

Shonen fights are a plot device to communicate the growth and change characters achieves throughout the story. When Hakuri suddenly gains the ability to teleport objects and stuff out of another dimension, it doesn't just frame him as an ultra genius. But also to illustrate how he's moving past the pain of his family's abusive relationship with him. Chihiro's "talent" gives a nice excuse to show how much he admired Samura despite how Samura despised the fact. Especially when Samura and Chihrio view themselves as damned

You know what I hate. Anime fans getting into these talent/ hardwork debates like they're Messi and Ronaldo. The only thing that should matter is whether they 'deserve it.' Did they fulfill their emotional and character arch to justify the skill or strength they got and does it thematically fit the story? Those are the only questions worth asking.
