First day of rotation we find out that 2 locum juniors have been brought in for the day to cover the ward so we can “settle in”

Meeting for 11am with manager. Expecting usual bullshit - it was a 20 min chat in their office about the importance of taking annual leave and a request for dates for study leave so they could plan the rota better.

Ask who the rota coordinator is, there isn’t one, the manager does the rota

Flagged two days where I would be the only junior as other F2 off for annual leave. Manager put out for extra cover

Called to the office by bleep - literally shitting it after a horrible weekend. No, they just wanted to check if I WAS OK AS I LOOKED TIRED.

They also seem to have all the consultants in their back-pocket, gnarly old con who should have retired 10 years ago went to butter when they walked onto the ward and asked for a favour.

Expecting to find out I’m in a 2 mth fever dream
