Anyone here broke a company laptop, how did you feel?

Company Macbook stopped working after I was in rain (so bad it penetrated by backpack) and gives the "battery service reccomennded" message. I'm hoping the issue can be resolved by Apple just replacing the battery and hope they don't detect other issues which may render the PC a write-off.

Anyone had any similar stories? I've had the PC for about a year.
