"THE COMEBACK" album concept
Saw this idea in a comment section a couple weeks back, and i can't stop thinking about it, so i figured i'd share.
This is probably a little silly, and unrealistic, but in my ideal world, Jermaine, Cole, finally drops the FALL OFF, one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time, the culmination of all his best qualities, his solo production, production by hip hop legends like DJ premier, The Alchemist, Conductor Williams, maybe even someone like Madlib, the energy and song writing prowess of his younger days back when he was coming up, warming up, and blowing up, mixed with the almighty lyrical ability he's shown to master in the last couple years, now even more polished and spectacular to witness on the FALL OFF.
It's his magnum opus, a brilliant explosion, like a supernova in the dark sky.
After that, Cole puts down the pen, he finally has a true undisputed, unbloated classic, it's a true hip hop marvel, and became one of the founding records of the new renaissance in the art form, with artists like JID, Redveil, MAVI, Doechii, etc. now becoming the torchbearers for thoughtful, boundary pushing hip hop music.
Following this, Cole seemingly dissapears from the face of the earth, he made his master work, and went away like the wind.
I imagine him a bit like 3 stacks, sometimes being spotted with a flute(more likely a basketball lol) in Tokyo or something, really, YEARS, if not a decade of radio silence.
And then, a couple years into the new golden age of hip hop, where the thought of the crown's power drives mc's into wild frenzies, out of nowhere, like a flash of light, Jermaine, Cole, after a decade of silence, releases a new album.
THE COMEBACK
Shaking- setting the world on fire, like in 95 when MJ announced his return to basketball to dominate the NBA in 96, but instead of dominating the NBA, Cole's back to snatch the crown and disintigrate it so it can return to the earth from which it came, a reminder, there aint no kings no more.
Cole is now pushing 50, with an even wiser, calmer mind, and his new, unbelievable pen, his writing truly looking like the pinnacle of rap, of rythm and poetry. Again, reminiscent of anytime Andre 3000 comes back.
I know this kinda reads like a shonen manga concept, or a fan fiction, but idk lol i thought the idea was really cool and i like the way it ties into the "the come up", "the warm up". "the off season", "the fall off" type name scheme, this shit is literally fantastical and lucid as hell but bruuuuh how cool would this be? Imagine Cole and Kendrick going bar for bar in their 50s lol, like, imagine a posse cut of all the legends on an album like this, im talking Cole, Kendrick, Drake in their 50s, Jay Z and Nas in their 70s, Rakim in his 80s, Black thought in his 60s just hopping on a track in like 20 years time.
I meant to study for the last 30 minutes but i had to get this out of my system fr
