Clarification regarding equipment used by different services in kashmir

1- the patka is just a steel ring with no top protection, but is known to regularly stop 7.62x39 mm rounds from the side

2- all troops have modern ceramic plates issued to them by the government. Which weigh about 8 kg for the front and back plate combined

3- the government issues all troops vests, but these are considered by troops to be of bad quality/uncomfortable, hence most of troops buy their own vests from local shops, but insert the government issued plates in those vests.

4- there is equipment differentiation on company level, with the insas and different versions of the ak family being the 2 most commonly used

5- the average soldier from any service has ceramic plates, radios and mukut helmet/patka issued to him

6- even if there is the x-95 available widely, troops prefer the ak over anything else.

These are to clear the common misconceptions about troop equipment on the ground level.
