Moka Pot - beginner

I've had nothing but instant coffee since the past 3 years, since I prefer cappuccinos, I decided over a moka pot instead of a french press.

I'm planning to get the 2 cup bialetti, I can't afford to get a grinder just yet so I'll be using pre ground beans, would blue tokai roasts be a good choice? would you recommend some other brand?

I'm also kind of afraid of the moka pot blowing up like a pressure cooker, rest assured I'll be brewing my first shot after thorough research.
