How have you handled a RTO mandate?
Hello,
I am the manager of the Helpdesk with 15 reports, all based on the east coast of the US. I have received a mandate from above to "create a flexible schedule to get agents back in the office in some capacity"
Context:
- All the Helpdesk is remote, this happened during covid
- The rest of the firm is hybrid (3 in 2 remote).
- The Helpdesk is the only team remaining that is currently fully remote.
- My initial thought is to create a 2 in 3 out policy
I am looking to hear what has or has not worked for other IT managers put in a similar situation. I know some may quit and that's a reality I have to face.
FWIW, I am hoping to not debate the right or wrong here. This has come down from above and is what it is, I need to make it happen and looking to do it the best way possible.
