Coyotes are too quick here.

I got a nice doe this morning (opening day), but just hit the back of the lungs at 150 yds. She took off into the damn trifolieta thicket and went maybe 100 yds.

As I was stumbling around in the thicket, a coyote almost ran into me, but spun around and exited. My nephew, thank goodness, is a good tracker and found her about 20 min.later, then dragged her back out of that mess. I was thinking we were going to leave more of a blood trail than she did, but came out relatively unscathed.

Despite the damage from whatever, probably coyotes, she's in the cooler now. I don't think I'll ever pull the trigger on another deer when it's 80 deg F and 90% humidity. Nasty.
