Any suggestions for non touristy / obscure places to visit in HK?

Will be in HK for the third time this year and would like to visit some of the more obscure, non touristy places. Victoria harbour, central, Kowloon, all the urban and first time must visit areas - done that, taken pics, was nice, but would like to see the other sides of HK. I’d like to visit some of the areas that you wouldn’t expect visitors to go in where you can see the local life and the “real” HK, away from the hustle and bustle with all the expats. Looking at the map, a few obscure places that struck to mind: Sha Tau Kok, Cheung Kang, Sheung Sze Wan, Silverstrand beach, Ting Kok, Ham Ting Beach? And also for these places, can I survive with just English or need fluent Cantonese? I’m a British Chinese and can speak and understand basic Cantonese (parents from Guangdong Guangzhou) but would be hard to engage in a full on conversation if it’s in pure Cantonese.

Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions thanks!
