What if Ireland became a protestant country?

Suppose during the reformation Ireland developed a native Protestant movement that managed to win over the majority of the population, perhaps by playing on the Roman Church acting like landlords or similar grudges? How will this play out with their Scottish and English neighbours, where religion isn't a significant difference?
