Anime or VN

I started watching anime recently, the 2006 one and now kai. Although the mysteries are getting cleared but I am still getting confused from time to time.

I checked the order of VNs from this website - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3311103764 and it feels there's a lot of modding and skipping in VNs.

And then there's the case of umineko and one other game.

So needed your views regarding this matter. What will be the most optimal way to enjoy the whole franchise?
