Losing my health insurance - what happens to my LPFSA?

Hi,

I have an HSA and LPFSA though my employer. My employment was terminated in mid-September and my health insurance ran out at the end of the month. I was able to use up most of my LPFSA before my insurance runs out, but still have a small amount left over ($150). Typically my employer allows that amount to be rolled over to the next year, but I'm not sure what will happen to it once I'm no longer employed.

Do I forfeit it if I don't use it up by the end of the year? What can I use it for? I don't plan to have any dental or vision needs before the end of the year - I'm in the COBRA election period and don't want to pay the premiums unless I need to for the next two months.
