Slaf's season

I know there's been a lot of discussion around Slaf and his underwhelming season. His recent form is filled with inconsistency. He can have one of his best games followed by a game where he's completely invisible which can be followed by another great game or the his worst this season. I think this is something to be expected from such a young player, but it's getting me concerned.

Last season he managed to hit the 50 point mark with an amazing form in the second half. Currently he's at pace for almost 50 again. I think most people expected a more productive season than the last one. Considering his productivity got even lower throughout the season, currently based on his P/GP from Dec 1st he's on pace to finish the season with only 42 points.

Now the question is, would a 42 point season be a disappointment? If so, assuming he stays healthy, what could be taken as a season to be satisfied with? 50, 55, more?

I think he's slowly getting it back together recently, but will that translate in the points production too? I believe in him, but it's often frustrating waking up to see discussions on another bad game from Slaf (the games are unfortunately unwatchable outside of weekends, the last two were at 1 am for example). Next year can be even more critical with him becoming a fairly expensive player, if it's the same Slaf by that time next season it's going to be very concerning for me.

I'm sorry if this post is taken badly. I'm a fan from Slovakia and I'm generally paying more attention to our boys and wanna see them do well, it's just that I really expected more from Slaf this season.

Let me know your thoughts!
