Hiv testing question
Just wanted to make sure I understand this correctly …
Friend of mine has had sexual encounters with both male and females over past 6 months to a year (using condom)
His last reported encounter was 14 days ago . On the 13th day post encounter he had viral rna pcr done along with hiv antigen and antibody test
Both negative
My question is I know if the rna pcr is negative at 13th day it is almost 97% conclusive no acute hiv..but the antigen antibody test is usually done 1-2 months after exposure Does the fact that the antigen antibody test being negative at least assure him that he also did not catch hiv from his prior encounters within the last 6 months to a year? His last encounter before 2 weeks was around 2 and half months ago in January
Thanks n
