Possession is not Special

I understand that in the Ghosts Fandom, there's a certain preference to treat Possession as this freak, one in a million thing beyond anyone's control, and the tendency for Christmas Specials to involve Possession is hackneed and cheap.

But I implore you to remember. The Ghost who professed the idea that Possession is nigh impossible to arrange is Isaac, who is from the 1700s AND actively witnessed Woodstone Mansion being wired for Electricity.

All we really know about Possession is that it requires an electric shock and a ghost to anticipate the shocked body.

Issac died in 1777. The earliest that homes were made to be electric was 1880. That's 100 years of zilch vis-a-vie Possession. And given it seems to need a live cable, honestly, how much unfinished electrical DIY performed specifically by a moron was done at Woodstone Mansion in 200 years.

Possession seems to be a freak accident only in as much no sane person would willingly touch a live cable without good motive. If you take away the "without motive" and replace it with "I can see Ghosts and have reliable data", the conclusion one comes too is that Possession is easily done, but you need to have the right factors arranged beforehand. Namely a live electrical wire to shock you and a ghost in the right place

Out of 5 Possession Attempts, only Eric/Trevor failed, and that itself could be an external factor. Maybe Eric has a weak heart.

The point being, it stands to reason Possesion is something perfectly doable in the modern world, but also completely understandable why ISAAC would belive it to be almost biblically rare
