What do you think of the treatment of the Traveler as a character ever since the beginning of 5.X

This still feels surreal to me how different Hoyoverse’s treatment of the traveler has been ever since the beginning of 5.X.

It seems the traveler is finally back to being treated as a proper main character, taking advantage of their unique powers and disposition (abyss purification and being a descender not connected to the leylines) instead of using it as an excuse to set them aside because of "WiTNesS" allegations.

Their characterization has also been so good lately showing much more of their personality, being proactive and making decisions by themselves instead of just being the errand boy/girl, Talking much more and showing how much they cares about their friends and how grateful they are to them (we also got to see more of their teasing / playful side which is always nice), it truly feels like they have a connection with these people instead of just being a walking camera or relying on paimon to talk for them (even their relationship was portrayed very well, I missed them having actual banter).

Traveler truly felt like a proper Mc and their own character, without overshadowing the rest of the cast.

I’m really happy with what hoyo is doing and I truly wish they continue on this path specifically when it comes to the treatment of the traveler and from what I saw of 5.4 it seems like that’s the case (the team up with raiden might be peak). I’m curious what does everyone think about the treatment of the traveler recently? Are you happy / disappointed? Is there anything you wish they did differently? I’d love to know everyone’s opinion on it.

Side note: I really hope the recent overflow of vocal traveler haters won’t give hoyo the impression that they should go back to pushing them aside.
