What happened to Pikeman?

So I’m a little behind, watching Jan 10 episode right now, please be kind with spoilers

What happened to the Pikeman story and targeting Sonny? I feel like as soon as Valentin departed PC, the entire storyline stopped so abruptly the characters got whiplash.

Admittedly I may have missed it being explained.
