Salesforce is rolling out two new AI-powered tools Agent force and Retail Cloud for retailers, and honestly, I’m not thrilled about it.

The tools Agent force for Retail and Retail Cloud with Modern POS are designed to automate tasks like order management and appointment scheduling, which sounds great on paper but raises serious concerns about job security.

While Salesforce claims these AI agents will free up human workers to focus on more complex interactions, the reality is that many employees could find themselves replaced by these digital laborers. The idea of having a 24/7 AI assistant might seem appealing, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that this technology threatens the livelihoods of countless retail workers.

The tools are set to launch between February and April 2025, and I can’t help but wonder how many jobs will be lost in the process. Automation may drive efficiency and productivity, but at what cost? As someone who has witnessed the impact of AI on job markets, I worry that this trend will only continue to erode employment opportunities in retail.

What do you all think? Will these advancements in AI truly enhance our shopping experiences, or are we just paving the way for more layoffs?
