I've just accepted that it's never going away
I stared experiencing frequent GERD, LPR, and gastritis symptoms when I was 8. I was finally diagnosed with them and erosive esophagitis when I was 18 and had my first EDG because I stwrted being in such extreme pain after every meal. I've been on PPIs, sulcrafate, famotidine, zantac (beforenit was discontinued), tums, mylanta even before then (~16/17 yo). My most recent EDG was last year (I'm 23 now) and all that's changed was that I no longer had mild erosive esophagitis but I now had a hiatal hernia. I still have GERD and LPR. I still have mild chronic inflammation of my entire stomach.
I've never had H. pylori. I've really tried adjusting my diet, too, but sometimes even the plainests foods like rice and chicken bother me (albeit not usually to the same agony as before).
I keeping hoping one day I'll be able to eat without being in pain, that I'll feel like I'm able to breathe normally after a large meal, that I'll be able to lie down after eating. But I just don't feel like that's going to happen.
