Dieting with your Garmin
A topic that rarely comes up is how extremely helpful the garmin watches are with shedding those few extra pounds after Christmas: It's almost foolproof. I use the base calorie consumption recommended for my age, height and gender (around 1800 calories at rest). I log all my food in MyFitnessPal and make sure I have a daily deficit of 500 calories. Garmin takes my activities into account and shows me how many calories I can have for dinner.
It's super easy without any guesswork about maintenance calories etc. Sometimes, I come home in the evening and only have 300 calories left but still want a substantial dinner: I just throw in another workout or an hour on the cycle and hey presto! I can have a good meal and not gow to bed with a grumbling belly.
Honestly, it's one of my favourite fitness features of the watch
