AMD top exec seemingly lets slip 2024 plans for AI game upscaling, calls it a "really huge deployment year"
AMD's Chief Technology Officer Mark Papermaster has seemingly let slip plans to deploy AI upscaling on its gaming devices in an interview uploaded on YouTube. Following is the direct quote
Sarah Guo: "What do you want people to know about that AMD is focused on in 2024?"
Mark Papermaster: "Well, this for us is a huge year because we have spent so many years developing our hardware and software capabilities for AI, we've just completed AI enabling in our entire portfolio. So, cloud, edge, you know, our PCs, our embedded devices, our gaming devices. We're enabling our gaming devices to upscale using AI, and 2024 is really a huge deployment year for us. Now, the bedrock's there, the capability is there, I talked to you about all the partners that we're working with. So 2024 is for us a huge deployment."
