The duality of acting high and mighty

I want to preface this by saying I’m a fan of both GamersNexus and Linus Tech Tips. I’m critical of both parties when they are in the wrong. I wasn’t particularly fond of Linus’ comments with regard to the Honey situation recently (I think he maybe could’ve done more than a forum post for example).

But the way Steve went about adding a misquoted and frankly unnecessary shot at LTT in his Honey video, alongside the fact he didn’t contact LTT for comment before posting the video (a common and unspoken rule of journalism) was just not on. I understand why Linus is frustrated about being dragged into an “us vs them” with GamersNexus again and not being able to clarify before being bombarded with hate.

But the reason I’m making this post is the utter disbelief I’ve had reading the comments in here about Linus’ response today. A decent chunk of you are acting so high and mighty about Steve and that “Linus = bad”, that you actually kid yourselves into thinking that LTT fans are the only “bullies” here. For context, the person in these images in the same. They are coming across pretty smug when calling LTT fans “bullies” when in fact just a few hours before they were disregarding Linus’ genuine criticism and stating that LTT is meant “for children” and that GamersNexus is only for “mature intelligent adults”.

Some of you need to learn that you can criticise both parties involved for different reasons, and that putting one up on a pedestal is a stupid idea.
