Laundry Advice - Mini Washing Machine of Hand Wash?
OR hand wash not OF. Sorry....Here is my situation. Im a biggish guy and I live alone in a decent sized apartment. Our laundry room is terrible and very expensive. $2.50 is the MINIMUM per load to wash, and the same to dry. And even on high it can take up to three times to dry. So one load can cost $10. There are not laundromats in walking distance, just dry cleaners that charge you for laundering.
Now - I work from home, but when I DO wear "business attire" (slacks, collard shirts, sports coats, suits, etc) I already take them to get either dry cleaned or laundered most of the time, and since I wear them less often now, that just makes more sense.
So when I do laundry, its usually just my casual clothes, socks and underwear. Also, when I lived with my ex, I was very surprised at how convenient her drying rack was. I could EASILY dry a load of my laundry as well as hers - so buying one of those is a no brainer.
I'm considering getting a "mini washing machine" for my apartment, and using it for my day to day clothes and underwear. I feel like though as a big guy, REALLY small machines get impractical fast. But the bigger the "mini" machine, the more cumbersome? Then I got to thinking....why not just handwash? I read some tips on here about that which were helpful. Only thing is my bathroom sink is small...can I just wash my clothes in the tub? Also - how much more time does it take to handwash then lug my stuff down to my subpar laundry room?
I just wonder what people's experiences were with alternatives to washing, and if there are any mini washing machines people have had good experiences with.
