Frugal Decision Making

I'll admit, I'm not frugal and have an income that doesn't require me to be. I treat my family to a life of few wants. But that's about to change.

I was raised in a one income home with a disabled parent so I've lived in a home where every dollar mattered. My kids have not and I don't want them to grow up with bad habits or an unrealistic view of the world and money. I have an opportunity to build generational wealth if I could stop blowing money.

I've basically lost touch with frugal thinking.

As a community of frugal people, please show me your ways. Before spending money or making a purchase, what are your thoughts? What do you consider? Help me cure my needles spending habits.
